Microsoft Visual C++ is an important component of Windows system. Without it you will have problems with programs written in C++. Games often complain that the computer is missing Msvcp100.dll. This problem is regularly faced to by fans of the game Watch Dogs, but the error occurs also in other products of the gaming industry. Usually the game loads the required libraries during the installation process. The exceptions are pirate copies of games, which may not contain a library Msvcp100.dll. Sometimes they load a modified version, which then refuses to work. Antiviruses don’t like games downloaded from torrents, and can remove the library immediately after installation.
There are different options how to fix the error:
- Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012
- Download Msvcp100.dll for Windows 7/8/10
To get started, try to reinstall the whole package of libraries for C++. It can be downloaded for free from the Microsoft website. There you will find versions 2010 and 2012. For Windows XP and earlier versions of Windows 7 you need to download Visual C++ 2010 and for Windows 7 SP1 and above the 2012 version will fit. To start the download, it is important to determine the bitness of the system — 32/64 bit. It can be viewed if you right click on “My computer” and select “Properties”. There will be a column “system type” in which you will be able to find out the bitness of your Windows, then download the appropriate package. After the installation of Visual C++ you must restart your computer. Now the game should work.
If the error continues to appear, it is possible to load the library by yourself and put it in the system folder. Download file Msvcp100.dll from our website. After that put the library in the correct folder, then register it and try to boot the game with an error. Most likely a problem with the file Msvcp100.dll will disappear.
