When running Battlefield 4, a new version of Need for Speed and other games, pops up the error “the computer does not have msvcp110.dll”. It means that the computer don’t have one of the libraries that was used when creating the game. Msvcp110.dll is one of the Microsoft Visual C++ files. With this library, there are often problems, especially if you install unlicensed versions of games. The application, downloaded from torrents, can replace msvcp110.dll during the installation, which will stop the work of even the official games and software. Also the file can be deleted by user or antivirus.
If you have this error, it can be fixed. To do this:
- Install/reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2012
- Download file msvcp110.dll
The first thing you need to know the version of your operating system and bitness. You can find these in control Panel->System. Pay attention to the version of Windows which is under the “system type”, where bitness of OS is mentioned. If you have XP or Windows 7 of the old version, then you need to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010. If Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, or 10, you will need the Visual C++ 2012, don’t forget about it. You’d better download package from the official Microsoft site, it’s free. After installing Visual C++ error “msvcp110.dll” will go away.
What to do if you’ve reinstalled C++ libraries, but the program still can’t start? You will have to download the file msvcp110.dll and put in system folder. The place where to put the file depends on the bitness of Windows, if you have a 32-bit version, it is in the root System32 folder, for Windows 64 bit system — SysWOW64. You can download library msvcp110.dll for Windows 7/8/10 yfrom here. After registering the file, reboot the computer, everything should work fine.
