Open Graphics Library or OpenGL is a development of Cilicon Graphics company. It is used when creating games with 3D graphics. Common error associated with this package of libraries is that “opengl32.dll is missing”. Its reason is that the requested library was removed by a third party program or by the user. It often happens when you install hacked games. Apps from torrents do not always come complete with all necessary components, in contrast to licensed versions. Repak is able to remove or damage opengl32.dll when you install it and it can replace the original dll version. This leads to the fact that all applications that use OpenGL start to fail.
Another common cause of failure is the anti-virus program. When installing questionable games, anti-virus may recognize its library as a malware and isolate them. If it happens, then simply return opengl32.dll from quarantine and add it to the exceptions list. If the file is corrupted or deleted, to fix it will be a little difficult.
The algorithm is as follows:
- Reinstall the game
- Download opengl32.dll
- Install the entire OpenGL package
Once you know what kind of error you have faced to, try reinstalling the affected program. It will surely help if you are using a licensed game. It will replace all the suspicious libraries with the original versions, then it will work. In the case when the game was downloaded via the torrent, then reinstalling it could scarcely help. It would be better to look for another build of this game and try it. Not helped? Then download opengl32.dll from the network and put it in the system folder. You can download current dll for Windows 7 or higher from our website. If you have an x86 system, then put opengl32.dll in C:\Windows\System32. Windows x64 users will need the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64. When the library is in place, register it and start the game. Now you know what to do if you have an error opengl32.dll.
